Genesis continues to provide strong alternatives in luxury vehicles through expressive design and value. Their second entry in the SUV realm, the GV70 is yet another example.
The interior speaks for itself with clean, modern look that dazzles with its simplity and relaxed elegance uncluttered by multitues of buttons and dials.
The lengthy 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen can be divided into sub-screens, but is most impressive with the navigation map, displaying a generous view to the left and right of the road you are on. For folks like yours truly who like to meander down roads untried, it's a pleasure.
In keeping with its complete lack of boxiness, the center console contains two large dials - one for gear selection and the other for infotainment selection.
The second row got thumbs-up in comfort and roominess. It also has an enhanced child alert system that can detect body and breathing movement should the driver leave the car still occupied.
With the rear seats upright, there is 28.9 cubic feet available for cargo
and when they a folded, there is 56.9 cubic feet available.
The 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 creates 375 hp and 391 lb.-ft. connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. Freeway driving is almost effortless with advanced cruise control and a laundry list of driver assist tech cameras, sensors, and alerts that take care of safety concerns. There are five drive modes to choose from: Eco, Comfort, Sport, Custom, and Sport Plus.
Once again, Genesis is delivering excellence in design and value. Bravo.
